Silica
Elevating matter
Context
Silica is a premium furniture brand crafted from reclaimed industrial foundry sand. Confronted with the massive volume of this byproduct discarded annually. The central question was transformative: How could a rejected material be elevated visually, shifting the narrative from "waste management" to "desirable design object"?

Idea
I conceptualized an aesthetic that highlights the fluidity of the manufacturing process while showcasing its technical innovation. I wanted the brand to feel alive and in motion, contrasting the matte, granular texture of the sand with the precision of digital engineering. The identity relies on this tension between raw matter and controlled design.

Realisation
The logotype features fluid curves designed to mimic the natural flow of sand. I crafted a typography that feels both fluid and structural. For the imagery, I directed a UI with a "Sand & Clay" palette to let the texture breathe. This approach highlights the organic geometries of the furniture, reinforcing the link between the brand's fluidity and the 3D-printed reality.
